버전 1.x 변경 이력 (영어 전용)

Version 1.5.4 (July 1, 2005)

  • Help menu enhanced: Three new menu items on the Help menu: Mail Bug Report, Mail Feature Request, and SmartGo Discussion Group.
  • Bug fix: After pasting SGF, SmartGo didn't always let you save the resulting game.

Version 1.5.3 (March 25, 2005)

  • More Games: SmartGo:Games and SmartGo:Combo now include 30281 games. The free SmartGo:Viewer includes 1744 games featuring the san-ren-sei opening.
  • Bug fixes: A few minor bug fixes.

Version 1.5.2 (September 17, 2004)

  • Export Game List: New feature to export a list of games as a tab-delimited file, for use with spreadsheets or database programs.
  • Bug fixes: Crash when creating library with less than 50 games. Comments not always updated properly. Environmental Go property not saved correctly.
  • Various enhancements: Better joseki matching outside of selected area. Added registry setting for GTP timeout to accommodate GTP engines needing more startup time.

Version 1.5.1 (August 10, 2004)

  • Bug fixes: Files in SGC format were not read correctly if they contained variations or properties other than moves. Creating variation diagrams didn't work. Suggested name for saving a selected game should not be name of whole collection.
  • Game collection fixes: The bug with reading SGC format had caused some games to be cut off before the end of the game.

Version 1.5 (July 29, 2004)

  • Library of games: Support for a library of games. 1600 professional games are included with SmartGo. Elegant user interface for switching between your games and library games.
  • Fuseki and joseki matching: Match positions in your games against all positions in all the games in the library. Show the next moves that professionals played, and show joseki in the context of matching games.
  • Smarter computer play: Your library of games is used to play standard moves when you play against the computer, making the computer appear significantly stronger. As long as you play professional moves, SmartGo will too!
  • Performance: Much improved support for large collections of games. 30000 games load in a few seconds. And support for compressed collections saves megabytes on your hard disk.
  • Paste SGF from clipboard: Simply copy SGF from a game posted on rec.games.go, for example, then choose Edit > Paste in SmartGo.
  • Edit text labels: Edit labels directly on the board instead of using a dialog box. And enter a game directly from a printed game record: enter the numbers of all the moves, and SmartGo will convert those numbers to a sequence of moves, alerting you to duplicate or missing numbers.
  • Refinements in problem solving: Allow problem solving mode to be used to guess moves in a game by either black or white. Accept illegal moves if already in move tree. Show comment briefly before skipping to next move.
  • Various enhancements: Game Info can be edited for all selected games at the same time. Show and edit game comment in comment view. Mark or select a rectangle on the board by holding down the Ctrl key. Allow font size on board to be adjusted. Preserve text before proper SGF. Show status of tactical problems more clearly. Add option to not swap colors in Tourney. Add ability to filter games by board size, handicap, and player rank in Open Folder.
  • Bug fixes: New game in game collection needs to mark document as dirty. MN property numbering off by one at nodes with moves.

Version 1.4.1 (March 26, 2004)

  • Bug fixes: After choosing Add File in the context menu of the game collection, the name of the currently open collection got changed to the file just opened. Also, the selected game wasn't correct after sorting games.
  • Improved columns: Columns in game collection view are now added in proper order instead of being added at the end. Also, black and white players and ranks are now added and removed as a unit, which makes it easier to customize the view.
  • Computer play: Handling of semeai (race to capture) has been improved. Some performance improvements let the computer look further ahead.

Version 1.4 (March 8, 2004)

  • Game collections: SmartGo provides full support for game collections (multiple games in one SGF file). SmartGo shows a customizable list of games with player names, date played, result, and more. Add and remove games, sort and search for specific games.
  • Go Text Protocol (GTP): The Go Text Protocol is an emerging standard for communicating between Go programs. Use SmartGo to play against GNU Go or any other future engine supporting GTP.
  • Tourney: Choose Tools > Computer Tourney to automatically play a series of games between SmartGo and another program such as GNU Go. To avoid repeating the same game, each program plays once as Black and once as White from a set of configurable starting positions.
  • Split game into N diagrams: To easily print multiple games, automatically split games into a given number of diagrams to fit each game on a single page.
  • Stop auto-replay at comments: By popular demand, you can now configure auto-replay to stop at comments.
  • Associate SGF files with SmartGo: Always want SmartGo to start when double-clicking an SGF file? Simply choose Tools > Options > Reset > Associate SGF files with SmartGo.
  • More flexible problem solving mode: Problem solving now also works with problems from UliGo.
  • Links to AGA and Sensei's Library: The Help menu now contains direct link to the web sites of the American Go Association and Sensei's Library, two great places to learn more about Go.
  • Bug fixes: Score graph didn't always update correctly when switching between games. Computed score didn't update when switching between Chinese and Japanese counting.
  • Visual tweaks: On Windows XP, the dialogs follow the XP look. And on high-resolution monitors, the numbers on the stones are shown slightly larger.
  • Rename Board to Editor: To clarify the capabilities of the different versions, SmartGo:Board has been renamed to SmartGo:Editor.
  • Stronger computer play: Lots of improvements to the playing engine.

Version 1.3.1 (September 24, 2003)

  • SmartGo:Viewer: This release introduces SmartGo:Viewer, a free version of SmartGo that's perfect for viewing and exploring games. Only a few minor bug fixes compared to version 1.3 (no new release of SmartGo:Board or SmartGo:Player).

Version 1.3 (July 28, 2003)

  • Score graph: The score graph automatically shows your score while playing a game against the computer. Use Analyze Game to analyze each position in any of your games.
  • Delete Properties: Choose Edit > Delete Properties to see all the properties in an SGF file, and to selectively delete the ones you don't want. Also shows the number of bytes each kind of property takes, so you can easily reduce the file size of SGF games.
  • Stronger computer play: Playing strength has again been improved.
  • Command-line options: You can now pass move and game number to SmartGo, which makes it easy to set up Kombilo to use SmartGo as the preferred editor.
  • Auto-increment in Add to Collection: When adding problems to a collection, SmartGo now automatically increments the number in the problem name.
  • Properties for captured stones: You can choose to indicate captured stones in the SGF file, which can help simple viewers replay SGF games without having to implement the rules of Go.
  • Export Statistics removed: The Export Statistics feature has been removed from this version. Its main purpose was to make it possible to create a score graph, and that is now fully integrated in SmartGo. Please let us know if you were using this feature for other purposes.

Version 1.2 (April 18, 2003)

  • Stronger computer play: Playing strength has been improved significantly.
  • Problem solving: Test yourself against collections of problems such as those from goproblems.com.
  • Improved diagram creation: An Advanced Settings dialog to fine-tune the look of diagrams, as well as options for including coordinates around board, for including the current player below each diagram, and for changing the number of hoshi points on small boards.
  • Connection tactics: Let the computer figure out whether two blocks can be tactically cut or connected.
  • Visual ko indication: Computer analysis highlights unsettled groups that depend on winning a ko.
  • Change order of next moves: Simply drag the next moves in the tree view to reorder them.
  • Refinements: Mark positions added to a collection with a hotspot or checkmark.
  • Bugs fixed: Fixed hang when searching for '0123'. Eliminated irritating display refresh bug. Improved evaluation of seki at the end of the game. Fixed problem with Guess Next Move in Board version.

Version 1.1.1 (January 10, 2003)

  • Open Folder: Use a single command to open all the games in a folder as a game collection. You can then apply SmartGo's powerful search or diagram features to that collection of games, or you can simply use this to reduce the number of SGF files you have to manage.
  • Boards up to 29x29: SmartGo:Board now allows board sizes up to 29x29, so you can experiment with playing on a large scale. (SmartGo:Player remains limited to 19x19; we'll be happy to send a copy of SmartGo:Board to users of SmartGo:Player who express an interest in this feature.)
  • Find Blunders: Find points in the game where the score changes drastically.
  • Refinements: When showing alternates, the move played is shown as @. Triangles and other marks in EPS and PDF output fit more precisely into the stone. In EPS diagrams, the title is included for easier previews.
  • Bugs fixed: Scores that are good for white were read as even (B=W). Computer hangs when playing a move on small even board sizes (e.g. 10x10). Display not updated properly while computer is calculating its move.

Version 1.1 (December 19, 2002)

  • Export Diagrams: High-quality diagrams can be exported as EPS for easy inclusion into other documents, and as PDF for viewing and printing. Multiple diagrams can be produced with a single command: all diagrams of a game record, for instance, or all positions marked with hotspots.
  • Improved Find: Search for single or double hotspots, restrict search to the main line or variations only, or restrict search to a range of move numbers. Also search for ko captures or territory markings. Take advantage of SmartGo's search capabilities by exporting diagrams of all positions found by Find Next.
  • Add to Collection: This new command adds the current position (or part of it) to a collection, so you can easily create collections of problems or interesting positions.
  • Easier Mark toolbar: The Mark toolbar now provides direct access to the most important markings, making it easier to set up and annotate positions. The square marking now draws a standard square in a stone instead of a square stone. The label tool remembers when you change the starting letter.
  • Improved diagrams: The Insert New Diagram dialog box now includes diagram name, and provides more options. You can split all the games in a collection into diagrams with a single command, for example, and then use Export Diagrams to create a PDF file containing the diagrams for all the games.
  • Improved numbering: Move numbering didn't take the starting number of diagrams into account, which made them inconsistent with the numbering in diagrams. This has been fixed, making diagram creation more logical. The navigation toolbar also provides more information about the current move number, both in diagrams and in variations. (The Go to Next Alternative button was removed to give the move number display more space; you can use the Down Arrow key instead.)
  • Handle some non-standard SGF: SmartGo handles some non-standard SGF better, in particular line breaks in comments, improper handicap stones, and some GoWrite diagrams.
  • Some bug fixes: Resizing problem after the window was made very small; game not marked as dirty after dragging a move; first auto-save after starting new game might save old content; Delete Node deleted subtree if node was empty.

Version 1.0.1 (May 13, 2002)

  • Improved Insert Node: Edit > Insert Node now shows a dialog box that lets you choose where to add new nodes. You can also enter the node name in that dialog box.
  • Mark last move: The move number can sometimes be distracting when replaying a game. The Show Move Number dropdown in the View toolbar now has an additional option to simply mark the last move with a gray dot.
  • Integrated demo file: An SGF file highlighting some features of SmartGo is now integrated into every download and can be viewed with Help > Show SmartGo Demo.
  • Mark stone with move number: The right-click menu has an additional menu item to mark a stone with its move number.
  • Improved reading of .go files: Labels like "MARK a@F17" are now read correctly.
  • Fixed Find Node ID: Using F8 to copy the Node ID of the current node to the clipboard worked, but searching for that Node ID after pasting it in the Find dialog didn't find the right node.
  • Fixed comment cursor: The cursor wasn't correct over the comment area, and it could be hard to get the cursor to appear again after typing.
  • Fixed ampersand in diagram caption: The ampersand letter was not shown correctly in the diagram caption.

Version 1.0 (April 4, 2002)

First public release.
