Looking for a specific game? Just switch to the Library tab and start typing in the Games toolbar:
shusaku 1857 - All games played by Honinbo Shusaku in 1857.
seigen kitani - All games played between Go Seigen and Kitani Minoru.
kato takem 1977 b+ - All games won by black between Kato and Takemiya in 1977. Note that SmartGo starts matching after each letter, so just a few letters of a name may be enough.
life 10k - Find all 10 kyu life-and-death problems.
sun - Find games by a specific player on IGS.

Complex Queries
Add ! in front of a word to exclude any games matching that word. Add | in front of the word to indicate 'starts with'. Click on the dropdown and use the Filter Games dialog box for more complex queries.
SmartGo ships with useful filters already defined, such as handicap games, half-point wins, early resignations, or Shusaku's Castle games. To define your own filters, just specify a name in the Filter Games dialog, and your filter will show up in the menu.
